CEF & 80 Wonderful Years

#cefjacksontn – Yes, CEF celebrates it’s 80th birthday this year! That is truly amazing. The Jackson Chapter wants to officially recognize how grateful we are to be a part of such a wonderful organization. Imagine the reality that if YOU support us with your prayers, donations, or volunteerism, YOU are part of the largest evangelistic children’s ministry on the planet!

There will be many celebrations to honor the dream that Pastor Jesse Overholtzer had way back in 1937 to evangelize the children of the world for the glory of God. He – I’m sure – smiles up in heaven when he considers how this ministry has grown and how many children have been saved because of his step of faith. With that, let me address a reality that many of you may not have considered.

Pastor Jesse was 60 years old when he started CEF. In our modern Western church world, we place a huge focus on young pastors who sport the latest haircuts, jeans, and eye-wear. Please do not assume I am throwing stones here, I am not. I’m simply stating a personal observation. We need those trendy pastors, but we also need to honor and learn from those who have worked so hard for so many years… even before those young fellows were born. The point I am trying to make is that those who may be a bit older and less in the spotlight have the ability to move mountains. Jesse Overholtzer certainly did. So, if you are a senior in God’s work, dream a big dream! Ask Him what He wants you to do for the Kingdom. We would welcome you into the CEF fold to serve along side us. We need your help but more than that, God deserves your obedient service. You are important to Him and still have much to offer! Amen.
